Job description

Project Manager – Electrical Controls – Warwickshire – £67-70k + hybrid working + £5,600 car allowance + annual bonus (up to 15%) + 7.5% company pension contribution

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager with Electrical Controls experience to join a global machinery and specialist equipment manufacturer based in Warwickshire. The successful candidate will have delivered electrical controls projects from the supplier side, ideally within a controls system supplier or systems integrator.

This Project Manager (Electrical Controls) position combines commercial ownership, customer and contractor management with a sound technical understanding of industrial control systems, three-phase low-voltage power and control design. Experience delivering electrical installation, upgrade or retrofit projects would be particularly relevant.

Key aspects of the Project Manager role include:

* Manage electrical controls projects to agreed programme, budget, quality and safety requirements, maintaining effective customer and project-team relationships.

* Own project planning, milestone tracking, cost control, forecasting and reporting; review estimates, manage variations and commercial claims with customers and suppliers.

* Lead customer and internal project meetings, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage contractors and ensure clear allocation of responsibilities.

* Provide electrical engineering input to tenders and proposals, including electrical specifications, and technically and commercially evaluate supplier quotations.

* Prepare or coordinate functional design specifications, electrical engineering programmes and design reviews; obtain customer and supplier approvals where required.

* Oversee relevant health and safety activities, plant operation and maintenance risk assessments and safety-related control system risk categorisation.

* Support site delivery, including electrical site supervision when required, and ensure as-commissioned electrical drawings are obtained and filed.

To be considered for this Project Manager (Electrical Controls) opportunity, you should have:

* Project management experience gained with a controls system supplier, systems integrator or comparable electrical controls project delivery business.

* Knowledge of industrial control systems, including three-phase LV power and control design, with application knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems.

* Experience of managing project budgets, suppliers, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams, with strong planning, communication and commercial skills.

* Ability to interpret customer specifications, prepare tender requirements, assess supplier bids and resolve technical or site issues.

* Ideally have an HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or demonstrably equivalent experience.

* Willingness to work between the Warwickshire office and customer sites across the UK, with occasional overseas travel, weekend or shift work where projects require it; full driving licence.

The business offers a strong order book for 2027, established customers and opportunities for career development. The hybrid arrangement requires two days per week in the Warwickshire office, alongside UK site visits.

The office is commutable from Coventry, Birmingham, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Redditch, Nuneaton, Rugby, Daventry and Northampton and further afield given it’s only 2 days a week in the office.

Applicants must be able to work in the UK without sponsorship. Please send your CV for an immediate response
